Granted, the first season was pretty mediocre, but there were a lot of bright spots. the fact they were so quick to cancel it demonstrates Netflix still doesn’t know wtf they’re doing. I have no doubt this version is going to achieve cult status similar to the anime as time goes on.

They cancelled Cowboy Bebop, but THIS gets a second season. Ugh.

Agree wholeheartedly. Your Name was an incredible experience, not just a movie. But Weathering With You felt like such a step back by comparison. Good film in its own right, but falls flat when one considers it’s from the same creator of Your Name.

Same. Been a roller coaster ride of emotions with this franchise. BP is still my favorite Marvel movie to date (high), King Boseman passes on (EXTREME low), Leticia set to take on the mantle of BP (high again)... but she’s anti-vax (low again).

Literally everything you’re criticizing is WHY the show became so beloved. The style was meant to be loud, while the substance was very much meant to be subtle and subdued. It was meant to be abstract, quite like how jazz music actually is.

She probably was because her ass HAD to know some stupid shit like this was bound to go viral in this day and age. She certainly seemed much more aware than most racists in the past.

Frankly, I don’t think this is going to be the best thing for the soon-to-be-wed couples either. Thinking back to our own experience, choosing a small venue was a great excuse for us to ONLY invite the people we wanted coming.
