You clearly have never worked with people with disabilities, delays, cognitive or behavioral disorders. If you somehow have, I would immediately want whatever care center you work at investigated.

EVERYTHING about this case has given us pause. But we both also have a background in working with people with disabilities, developmental delays, cognitive and emotional issues, etc. That’s what makes this case even more vexing.

I’m saying it should be used sparingly, kind of like how it ALREADY is used sparingly for white kids.

I had a similar, but somewhat different experience. As a kid, I was a straight A, gifted student, that was allowed to go to some prestigious elementary school due to my grades.

For some reason The Hill’s write-up uses a lot of vague and unnecessary terminology to obscure the comment; “tensions flared,” “heated exchange,” that Yoho offered the phrase as a thought to “no one in particular,” and that Ocasio-Cortez is a “liberal firebrand.”

Living in the current epicenter (Miami, Florida) I am dealing with an endless supply of stress. Doesn’t help that I work in an office environment with a rabid Trump supporter who refuses to wear masks.

You know, you’re absolutely right. I honestly did not consider what it must be like to have my every move and action monitored like that. I can’t imagine what that must do to someone’s psyche WHILE ALSO dealing with abuse from someone you trusted.
