Can Kotaku make a new subdomain where people over 30 can go to only be shown stuff that’s actually newsworthy? Cuz it feels like half the time I load up the main page and most of it is ‘news’ for 12 year olds. Guaranteed when these guys hit retirement age they’ll have literally nothing left.

Welp, it'll be piracy for me!

It takes only a quick Google or two to see that book banning efforts in the US have been largely conservative efforts.

Sounds like something you’d have to do a study to find out. My guess is that the failures make for more salacious stories than the successes so they’re overrepresented, in my experience a lot of couples who open up are successful at it and private about it, so you wouldn’t hear their success stories. I wouldn’t

Or you know, you could rent it, or play it at a friend’s, or watch part of a longplay. I’m just saying reviews aren’t the only way to figure out if you like a game. Unless you think and feel exactly the same as your reviewer about everything, chances are you’ll have your own liked and disliked parts when it comes to a

I mean, maybe you could call my post a defensive reaction to the review if it had been negative, but in this case the review being fairly glowing is pretty much in line with my decision to buy the game. I even said in my initial post that it was nice to see because a lot of the initial reviews seemed to be saying that

I mean fair enough, we’re basically approaching the same problem 2 different ways, but I don’t think my way is any dumber than yours. With your way, you rely on the opinions of others to make the call about what to buy. With my way, it’s more about gut feeling, my previous experiences with other games, what kind of

I mean your premise seems to be that the opinions of professional reviewers can never be wrong. I really don’t agree. We’re not talking about climate change deniers or flat earthers here, opinions about video games aren’t “right” and “wrong” - like any art people’s experiences of games are all different. I have heard

Wow, got your goat huh. Don’t really understand why but you do you. All I’m saying is *play* a game, *watch* a movie, *listen* to an album before you close the door on it in your mind. Don’t let someone else’s opinion, whether it’s a “professional” opinion or not, do your thinking for you.

I never rely on reviews to make my purchasing decisions for me, I buy what interests me, and this interests me. I’ve played all the Uncharted games and unreservedly enjoyed every last one of them. TLOU is one of my favourite games. For better or for worse, I’m putting my faith in the studio to put out a sequel that

Now playing

I don’t know how far PS3 emulators have come since this video, but you might be able to emulate it:

Guys this is cool and all but can you PLEASE check if the videos you post are region restricted and if they are find versions that aren’t. This is the internet, you have an international audience, don’t post stuff that only plays in the U.S

The Dark Quiet Death episode was my favourite of all of them

Good news, and it's not in the form of a slideshow or video, nice!

Too many ads but cool art

Nice work, loved this! Never even knew about the My Bloody Valentine connection

A glimpse of the AV Club of old. Gorgeous writing, thank you.

God, if you know it’s bullshit and is being done for attention, why are you reporting/perpetuating this? Jeezus Christ how is this AV Club? You guys are such a f@#$ing click mill these days. Just ANYthing to get people to click. Don’t you have even a modicum of decency? I am so disgusted by how far this site has sunk.

Kentucky Route Zero really is quite the experience. There’s no other game that can match its mood. Great selections! All of these are excellent games (though I haven’t played Outer Wilds yet)

Another video instead of a written article huh? Pass.
