Indeed. That’s why I was looking for a story-internal reason.

Guardiäns 2 was great (I was there opening night and have no regrets), but it really leaned heavily on that whole Drax-cracking-up thing. I don’t think I could stand to listen to that the four (or whatever) more times it’d take to see it again.
And is “based”* on a really interesting book, so really too bad that we prolly won”t get an adaptation of it now.
It was such a relief t’hear him talking about what’s goïng on in Brazil the other night, even if he did need to start with a Trump-themed transition. What a great segment.
“I’ll be in my [tr]unk!”
Also in Bram Stoker’s Dracula (not necessarily in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, tho, which I’ven’t read). He stabs the cross so he gets to be immortal and gets superpowers. I mean, even the whole “God punishes Satan by (in some versions) putting him in charge of all the bad people and thus setting him up as his adversary” is…
Agreed. I mean, way too fast by linguistic standpoints, but I liked that they bothered at all, and that they methodology made sense. So many times people gloss over that extremely important detail. (In the book, there was a Viking who spoke Arabic or an Arab who spoke Vikingic, I forget which, but this definitely…
Chyna? As much as it’d be to hear Trump say her name all the time…
Huh, I thought CT was 2nd and your comment was nonsense, but I looked it up, and I guess not.

Secretaries of HHS and HUD…
But Animaniäcs came on the same time as Bonkers. I haven’t looked that up, but I remember beïng excited about both, and then realizing it was really only the former.
They were in all but name. Same (voice actor doïng the same) voice, same character design (with a different hue), and hard to say what the characterization differences were.
Agreed. Language Log in on my rss feed, obviöusly.
Starting with a discussion of KotCS, it’s rather improbable that our (Internet comment board!) discussion has been so civil.
I suppose there’s a reverse joke to this where somebody just asks you “What’s up?” and you say “An Oscar-Winning Pixar movie” and then you don’t have friends anymore.
I keep reading down this thread, but I just keep thinking to how you dropped a reference to Geoffrey K. Pullum up above. Mad respect!
Are you “goïng wale-watching” when you are embarrassed and end up staring at your own corduroy pants?
I remember liking the mine cart, but for me it’s more Short-Round than Willie, altho she’s bad too.
That’s fine. I’m certainly not here to convynce you; I actually haven’t seen ToD in a long time (definitely not this, you know, milleniüm) so it’s possible I’m just wrong.
Agreed. I wasn’t bored (I’ven’t dared rewatch it) and I do love some little bits here and there. Still better than Temple of Doom, which isn’t saying much.
