It’s very strange how he’s always out of frame during interviews, and then he makes a good quip and suddenly the frame adds him in for a second, then gœs right back to the close-up. It’s even stranger when the zoom-out reminds me that the previös guest is also still there.

I really wish Colbert had somehow gotten the right to do his show from Chicago. I realize there’dn’t’ve been a lot of possible guests coming thru there to plug things, so I guess that makes it impractical.

Agreed. I like some stuff he dœs, but the constant “Wow, this really is an awful prop; why are we even doïng this stupid joke?” really gets me down. (I do understand a lot of people may love that about him.)

Colbert and Meyers both put their whole thing on YouTube a few hoürs after airing. I like them both and watch all their clips, but their choices are pretty similar and I definitely get a lot of the same jokes twice. (I also put all of Conan’s YouTube stuff in the mix, and it’s actually a nice change how dissimilar it…

But aren’t Jon Oliver and Samantha Bee the most relevant voices in late night?

I really wish, if possible, this is what they’d done with The Nightly Show. There was indubitably enough stuff there for a good weekly shows, and other shows like Not Safe would’ve benefited by sharing the post-Daily slot.
