No, the Guardian did NOT say that. They just report that the filmmaker recounted how a subject in her film "talks with heartbreaking candour about how she would do anything for her BlackBerry; when a gang of boys takes it from her she recounts how she allowed herself to be sexually assaulted in order to have it back."

It pisses me off when people miss the point about things. Here's a bunch of mostly white women sitting around analyzing & nitpicking her choice, which none of us will have to face. When the real racist creep dick sleeze face is the boss who told her she would have to get the surgery to be represented by him.

There are a few things in your post that offend me. Let's make a list.

Perhaps she had PMDD? It's real and can be very debilitating
Read about it before making conclusions

Yeah mmhmm. And you know especially since back in the day blonde people were enslaved, systematically raped, murdered, treated like animals and chattels. And then when they were finally free, treated as second class citizens, kept segregated, could be mocked ridiculed, beaten and killed with pretty much nil

Unfortunately, not much more than this clip of (to paraphrase Dodai) "two white ladies telling a black lady what feminism is"

One of the worst articles via Jezebel yet.

Emotionally cloistered monarch sycophants? Didn't realize Jez was in the business of insulting an entire diverse nation, let alone judging their sleeping habits.

If you're wondering what Anna Breslaw thinks is so hilarious about Hitler, it all goes back to when she watched Breaking Bad:

ANNA BRESLAW - Jezebel's resident jewish hating scumbag

You'd think by now, Anna would make the decision to just stay the hell away from anything even remotely connected to Jews.

Yeah, you are being that person. A persons intelligence on a subject isn't based on their ability to spell a damn thing. The fact that she even cares is pretty great.

The most racist, misogynistic, homophobic anti-Semitic person I know has two advanced degrees and dropped out of a PhD program. He routinely makes shit up to such a degree that I have to google things after conversations with him to know if anything he said was true. And, when I say he makes things up I don't mean

She is dyslexic.

You should know that this attitude reflects much more poorly on you than on those who don't tweet or speak to your standards. (That may have been the first time 'tweet' and 'standards' were ever used in a sentence together, actually.) It's juvenile and horribly elitist.

Really, though? Can't someone listen to their news rather than reading/viewing it and still be informed? And if you have no reason to think you're spelling something wrong, why would you look it up? And does being a poor speller negate all other aspects of your intellect?

Please don't compare this young woman to a White woman to appeal to your audience. She is her own, autonomous person. Lena Dunham didn't invent young women writing about their experiences.

Yeah. I just... don't have the energy to discuss this at the moment.

If you read this post and your first thought was about ally bashing...

There is a really good Racialicious piece that points out:
