"Sampled" is a poor choice of words for that one. "Interpolated" is more appropriate, since they're using lyrics from the song, but not actually taking a actual sample of the song. They could've done better explaining that.

I'm holding out hope that Gravity Falls gets a nod for Animated Program (and an even longer shot, wins).
