...he does have a pretty inviting personality” He really does. He was so warm, personable and engaging the one time I met him here in Philly. My lil sis is so much of a fan that I’m waiting on (hopefully) getting news that he’s pulled through before alerting her. I’m on edge about it myself. The way he and Darryl

Well, may he be blessed, and have time to recover. Life is bigger than a recording career.  Hopefully he gets the counseling/rehab he needs. Hopefully the folks who are more inclined to indulge him/cosign on getting high can be marginalized. And of course he has to make better choices himself.  We’ll see how this

When this man was working at an IHOP, i’m proud at myself for not making fun of him. I can only imagine how it must have been like to be the most popular man in the world at one point, but to humble yourself down to the point of taking an average job in a kitchen, I saw that as brave.
I do wish nothing but the best

I think that Bucky clings to that period of music because it reminds him of when he was last truly himself. When Steve changed, he changed for the better, as it were. Bucky, however, was changed for the worse, into a killing machine for the enemy. And even though he’s no longer that, he’s still tortured by what was

This is absolute horseshit. Electricity is a public utility in Canada and nobody gets cut off by missing one payment, especially not at the start of spring during a pandemic.

Rich people forget to pay bills all the time. For instance, Donald Trump is a billionaire (or at least claims to be) and he’s racked up a long list of things he underpays if he even pays at all.

If he’s a “millionare” with a low credit card limit, then he’s got some very serious cash flow issues. If someone with 650-ish can get a credit card with a $3000 limit and a 40k/annual income (just the bottom end of the the middle income in some areas), he can definitely get himself a decent card.

This is a basically a

As a utility, most power companies are usually Crown corporations (or heavily regulated private ones) - cutting off of power is not “oh you’re a few days late” kind of affair, especially during the pandemic where there were moratoriums on a lot of late bills. Most likely he was several months to a year late in paying

Rich people and big companies all do that, they never use scheduled direct payment options and always wait till the very VERY last minute when their providers threaten to sue/cut them off to pay the bill, rince and repeat. It keeps just a smidge more money in the account until tht moment those pennies of interests

I’m paying utilities for the first time this year as most of the time it was covered in my rent and handled by the landlord. I was pretty surprised when I got a final notice of disconnection within a day of missing my first payment. Not sure if this had to do with the previous tenant but I was just waiting for the

If you pay your bills on time, good on you.

I hung out with a guy for maybe a year or so on and off who was extremely well-off, though I don’t know actual figures. He didn’t know that you have to register your car every year, so the first time he kept a car longer than that he got a registration bill and had no idea what it was for.

Okay so this is a way over simplification of how this all works

I had a friend who got his power shut off many years ago, and it was after several months of not paying or trying to work anything out. The stack of warnings and stuff he had was probably a good 6-8" tall.

Forget the utility bill.  Why isn’t he using a UPS for all his equipment? Then he could have at least done a “graceful shutdown” of the stream.

You can’t get your own credit card if you’re under 18 so I have no idea what kind of nonsense this guy is talking about.

It’s Canada’s fault that he has his electric bill tied to a credit card with a low maximum? It would take all of two minutes to contact his bank and have them raise that limit. Or, he could change to have the money pulled directly from his (apparently large) bank account.

“Forgot to pay electric bill” was likely “had friend cut the circuit breaker because we did not feel like streaming today.”

I will say my wife and I, habitually, forget to pay the electric bill every December since it’s always due right around Christmas and all the chaos that comes with that, luckily they don’t shut down until you miss two months but that January bill often comes with a pretty hefty pricetag.
