As I’ve said elsewhere, I’m willing to give it a shot. I think SR4 hit peak zaniness, at which point, the only way forward is to start from the beginning (ie reboot) and follow a similar path of escalating craziness. Each sequel in the SR series was crazier than the last, after all.

Saints Row 1 and 2 were also silly and ridiculous with slightly more grounding than the 3rd or 4th game. I’m honestly looking forward to them going back to their roots, as long as it’s a similar tone to the first two games.
