I hasted to add another comparison: although the night this started to blow up she was on network television in a bear suit singing “Baby Got Back,” Sarah Palin was for many years a star of the conservative movement, of the Gadsden-waving set pictured above. During that time her brand, her catch-phrase was “death

We are way past that point. We now have a president who has openly broken half the rules of the Constitution, is now openly inciting insurrection and his Nazi supporters openly calling for same.

Conservatives were happy to throw freedoms away in the aftermath of 9/11. No sacrifice was too great if it meant making Muslims and Middle Eastern people suffer. That shit impacted our freedoms far more, and for a much more nebulous threat. Mass surveillance and secret torture sites were fine because they *might*

I vividly remember that watershed moment in the Civil Rights movement.

Where are the riot police goon squads? The tear gas? The water cannons? I guess those things are only for people that protest against fascism and not for the (very near) future right wing death squads that rally for fascism.

Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by

And DROWNING IN A POOL IS NOT FUCKING CONTAGIOUS! Not to mention, we take precautions against pool drownings and car accidents. This is the dumbest fucking argument.

Dr. Oz is the Dr. Drew of Dr. Phils of Alex Joneses.

I don’t know that we really “shrug off” flu deaths. Quite a bit of effort and resources go into minimizing the number of people who die from the flu each year. Like, a lot of work goes into developing a vaccine, I know first hand that the vaccine is pushed hard by medical professionals and is pretty widely distributed

I’m still not getting what you’re getting at. It’s not necessarily the number, it’s that the flu deaths are spread throughout the year and don’t collapse our health care system because they aren’t all bunched up in a few months.

BTW, I’m kind of glad that this is showing the gross, gross reality of what the Party of Life really is. They are a death cult; they’ve peddled in death for decades. They demand human sacrifices for wealth. That’s it; that’s all they are; that’s all they are about. And this has ripped the mask cleanly off their faces.

It kind of amazes me that “Dr” Phil can blithely claim that almost a thousand people die a day in swimming pools and no one says “wait, that makes no fucking sense”

Yeah, a lot of people do die in traffic collisions. Even more used to, because it used to be that we let the automobile industry do whatever they wanted. Thanks to Ralph Nader and others like him, we now regulate that industry to reduce deaths, but we could always do more. Thanks; you’re proving the point of

I still have a very clear memory of 10 years ago when Donald Trump was first getting on the birther bandwagon, and that dimwit goober Dr Phil appeared on the David Letterman show. Dave asked him about it, and Phil sheepishly defended not-yet-45, saying he “doesn’t have a racist bone in his body” and the usual dodgy

You can Google 10k results about why incest is bad but that didn’t stop your family, did it?

They showed up on Fox, waved the “we have women too” flag with the subtext that theirs have the better pedigrees. They played their part.

I highly recommend Coffee Talk. It’s a bit short, but enjoyed every minute on it. I treated it like reading a visual novel, while playing a game on the side, and it was very soothing. Hopefully they’ll come up with a sequel.
