Yeah, I’m really enjoying reading them. Seems like the “Spurs play the right way meaning technical excellence, Cardinals play the right way meaning moralizing smugness” is the winner, with a dash of “St. Louis is more obnoxious or at least more thought about than San Antonio” and “Gregg Popovich is so awesome that

It’s the Bartman Syndrome. Just because there are multiple hands reaching for it, the one who actually touches the ball becomes the scapegoat.

Identify the Josh Smith in your life, and waive the Josh Smith in your life.

I’d posit that the definition of “right” with the Spurs is based on the actual merits of basketball success - ball movement, spacing, unselfishness, etc. whereas the Cards definition is based more in moral piousness.

Nobody hates the Cardinals because they sublimate their egos for the betterment of the team. People hate the Cardinals because their expression of ego is that they are better than everybody (not physically, but morally) because they are a “team”. They aren’t sacrificing their ego. They are stroking it.

Because the Spurs are cool and good, and the Cardinals are stupid and bad. Also, St. Louis.

Because we hear about them playing the “right” way mostly from people who aren’t either Spurs or Spurs fans.

Guess which of those two teams has an insufferable, self-righteous group of asswipe fans.

Because the spurs aren’t dicks about it

“The Spurs succeed because every player is unified in trying to play basketball the “right” way.”

JOSH. SMITH.

Maybe this.

Morality, ethics, justice, and human decency do not figure into the calculations of capitalists. They are, by definition, concerned only with profit.

It was only private to the extent that someone else on the conversation chose to keep it private. Which is to say, “not much.”

The school should release the names of the members of the chat and let the marketplace of ideas resolve it.

Very much? Jordan is statistically just about as inferior to Kareem (Kareem’s career VORP would be something like 120 if his whole career was included) and Wilt, and I’m pretty sure you’re going to keep giving Jordan sloppy blow jobs for all of forever. (You can feel free to quibble all you want about that, btw. It’s

Kerr is the best part. +1
