fat men. Fat men.

I don’t know why it’s cynical to believe that a popular person gets more support than a person who is less popular. That’s arithmetic, not cynicism.

They don’t have to be funny or excusable to realize that he’s not the same person he was 10 years ago. None of us are.

I don’t think how funny someone is should really matter in these cases. He’s a bad person or he isn’t, how good he is at making you laugh doesn’t really connect.

And you know the difference and are being intentionally disingenuous. SHE made them WHILE employed for Disney.

Apu is the consummate professional. No matter what bizarre shit has gone down with a customer, they’re sent off with that cheerful phrase.

I always assumed that Apu was from “India” in the same way Springfield is in “America.”

Yeah, that’s really more a “convenience store worker” stereotype than an Indian stereotype.

It says it on the door of so many stores, and Apu’s cheerful delivery of the phrase is delightful.

and that’s precisely why having the most prominent portrayal include a catchphrase like “Thank you, come again”—which the character might not utter much anymore, but you’ll find hard to remove from the pop lexicon—is hurtful and retrograde.

And when Phil LaMarr and Amy Tan play white characters on Futurama?

And why does a woman have to voice Bart?

If the American president wants to be the "leader of the free world" (whatever that means) they better be ready to be satirized by anyone in said "free world" (again, whatever that means)

The actions of the USA’s politicians impact the entire world.

No mention that he also got Joe Walsh (the terrible one) and Sheriff Joe Arpaio (the pardoned hate criminal) to also object publicly to the interviews they signed releases for?

His last name is actually “Baron Cohen.” I know it’s confusing, but just putting that out there for the sake of accuracy.

Piggybacking Matt Gerardi here. The trend of Japanese media, whether games or shows, with absolutely inexplicable pseudo-English names is too much for me. I was a weeb in middle school, I’ve taken karate, I have Berserk tattoos, okay, I get it, I get Japanese pop culture. I can even kinda wrap my head around the fun

I know "Counterpoint: Nah" isn't a real Blink 182 album but I feel it could be.

I agree with all of these except King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, because that’s an awesome name, especially for a proto-styled psychedelic band.

listening to gales of laughter rippling throughout the place during the scene in Dumb & Dumber where Jeff Bridges has violently explosive diarrhea
