Anecdotal - I’ve had Google Fiber for.... 5 years? KC was the first city. Love it. Way cheaper and better value than any of the other services in the city and better customer service.
Streaming consoles built with google’s resources and on their infrastructure are a new experiment.
Well, the difference here is that with the XBO you had to buy a $500 box and have it sit in your home and do all that stuff when it shouldn’t need to. This seems to be a very low entry point, no hardware, optional accessories and it’s streaming so going into it it’s always going to be connected to the internet.
It’s kind of funny how pessimistic everyone here seems to be. I’m guessing none of them actually tried out Project Stream? Because that experience changed my mind in the same way trying VR for myself did - except this is more accessible and practical than any VR application yet. Running a brand new AAA game at…
I can guarantee you there’s loads of examples of people that lived how they wanted, eating whatever they wanted, and dying early. There’s probably also loads of examples of people trying to be healthy who end up living long lives. And there’s probably examples of loads of people trying to be healthy but dying early…
LMAO ok man.
I didn’t realize that you guys actually thought of your little fractions of GMG as separate entities. None of your readers do, probably because of all the crosspost pollution.
Know what’s really not punk? Pretending a blue-eyed septuagenarian Vermont senator who voted for the War in Afghanistan— and whose record on gun legislation is equally lousy— is the only “progressive” option.
What an absolute fucking cop out.
Imagine thinking that this poster was strictly referring to which specific vertical the blogs post to, and breezing over the rest of the criticisms. GMG verticals obviously posted plenty about the 2016 election, and the fact that they’re now on Splinter isn’t the crux of the argument here.
This is disingenuous. Do not pretend as if the political content of splinter, deadspin, jezebel, gawker, etc are completely separate spheres. and do not pretend like the commentary is basically “everyone and everything is shit (particularly competing sites) and while we pretend to be no-bullshit truth tellers, people…
They have to lay the groundwork for those “Why Bernie Didn’t Win” and “Why Voting Doesn’t Matter” articles to come in the next year or so. I’m not really a Beto fan either, but their persistent slam articles on him are humorous to say the very least about them.
I imagine this week they’ll talk about how his outfits…
Yeah, you haven't gone back and looked. Bernie has never ever been the favorite of the actual voters, regardless of how much you want that to be true.
Part of me thinks the author just wanted to plug his own punk creds. But I’m trying to be less cynical—by like, at least 3%.
It’s not so much a woosh as plugging their ears and going:
Did you see that bird on the podium with Bernie!? Beto never had a bird land on a podium case closed!
Right? I swear I heard the *whoosh* sound when I read that line.
Lol @ Aunt Splintypat huffing your smelling-salts over here. “Would you mind turning off your fundamental personality for the duration of this campaign, Mr. O’Rourke? We just don’t find it appropriate.”
There is no way you can model a presidential campaign off of DIY.
