Question: What do you do if you’re a nun who has medical problems that need estrogen/hormones? Endometriosis is often treated initially using hormones, otherwise known as birth control pills. Do they have to refuse treatment? Or is it ok because they know it’s not for birth control?

For women working in science, there is no surprise here. Then if those women do get hired they are paid less, promoted less, and treated differently. I am sick of hearing that we don’t have enough skilled scientists in this country. We’d have more if the women weren’t invisible.

Eventually I will escape. I have a bad chronic illness. If medical care gets too difficult to obtain, I am content with plans to just stop treatment. It’s sad but I figure it will be necessary eventually. It could be necessary sooner depending on who the next president is.

Just so you know, residents ARE doctors. They have graduated from medical school and are doctors. They are legally allowed to make diagnoses and prescribe medication. nurse practitioners and physician’s assistants have the same priveleges as long as they are supervised by a doctor. $1000 is unfortunately damn cheap…

Tennis, while not completely equal, is a lot closer than a lot of sports. At the Grand Slam tournaments, the prize money is equal now. At smaller tournaments, I’m not sure. But it’s never been off by 40 times.
