Its a bad time of the year for ratings generally, but the BBC haven't really promoted it much either. It would have been better suited to the run up to Xmas.

Worst bar ever

Is this the last original song PG has released to date? He hasn't exactly been prolific since "So" made him uber-rich.

A man needs a maize

yeah, I found the first episode a bit pedestrian but it really improves after that (possibly because Strange is a much more interesting character than Norrell).

I don't think anyone would dispute that he was technically the best guitarist the Stones ever had, and his arrival coincided with probably their strongest run of albums (& I'd include Goat's Head Soup in that).

Free as a bird is terrible. Real Love is just ok in a sort later-Lennon-album-track kind of way. Neither of them are helped by Jeff Lynne's plodding production.

WYWY is the worst of his overtly Indian songs, it's a real dirge - "The Inner Light" is much better.

I'm certainly not with you. One of the 10 worst Beatles songs, a lot of them written by Harrison (see also "Only a Northern Song" and "Within You, Without You")

It's been ruined by Macca bellowing it out at every gala performance he gives.

List is missing "I am the fly". Perhaps they're saving it for the 60 minutes of Fly music list along with the Cramps "Human Fly" and U2's "The Fly"

3 from Leisure and only one from Modern Life, nothing from Think Tank??? - Come on…

the most shoegazey thing they ever did was the outro to "Oily Water" on Modern Life - sounds like MBV.

the way it transitions from folk to electro halfway through is genius.

The Roses became mediocre when Ian Brown zoned out - he had a big hand in the first album and his solo stuff is pretty good (if a bit one-paced).

It's a grower - I was a bit underwhelmed first time I heard it (as it has been appearing on "best albums ever" lists for decades).

They also "borrowed" Wire's "I am the Fly" for "Line Up" and the Stranglers' "No More Heroes" for "Waking Up". That's basically all 3 of their hits, ripped from other songs. Still quite like Elastica though, they plagiarised with style.

Arnie Pye's segment was called "Arnie in the Sky" - that was the joke!
