Everytime A.V. Club changed the smallest thing, everyone was all Chicken Little, with predictions of doom and destruction. But damned if they weren’t right - Kinja has made one of my favorite sites into a ghost town, and while I still check in a couple times a day, I’ve noticed I spend less and less time here.

Not to mention the dismissive way long time comment section folks were treated when they had concerns by people like Ernie from Kinja and some of the editorial leadership at AVC. Certain articles just written re: the switch were just glazed like over like a donut of condescension.

The decision to move to Kinja was most likely made by corporate space vampires in orbit high above AVCHQ. We’re probably lucky O’Neal had the pull to get stuff like account migrations done, as I’m betting those orbiting space vampires do not give half a shit about the commentariat here.
