Renter’s insurance is an absolute no brainer! I remember mine being like $150/yr for something like a $25,000 policy.

Really? Depending on the length of ownership and market climate, it’d be tough to buy any house within a metropolitan area that isn’t going to substantially increase in value by the time you sell, or at least outpace inflation. I realize not everyone lives in/near a city and myriad things could happen to the economy…
Understood! You outlined all the big ones. One thing I would mention about insurance is that buying a new house is a great opportunity to do some shopping around for different insurance companies. We ended up getting a great deal on an umbrella policy that’s saved us some $ in other areas we didn’t expect.
I mean, I hate to sound like a jerk but, are people honestly buying houses assuming they can afford them by budgeting only for the monthly mortgage payment and nothing else you listed here?

Agree about the gruel thing, but why bash someone based on where they live? Not everyone can or should live on a ‘cool’ coastal city. Believe it or not, there is more culture to be had in this country that isn’t San Francisco, LA, NY, or Chicago.
I tried Mint for a while, but was disappointed by it’s connectivity and customization of things. For instance, I never found a way to do clean cash flow tracking on a pure monthly basis. My credit card statements, mortgage payment, etc... all occur on different days of the month, and Mint’s reporting tended to be very…
This is the only ‘real’ correct response here. Unfortunately the problem will persist in these types of situations until something monumental changes.
Lol, no. Just take their shirt off while they eat rather than uselessly waste plastic wrap if you’re that concerned about getting food on clothes. And it’s a hell of a lot easier to remember to travel with a little bib then packing a fucking box of saran wrap

Works great for grilled cheese on a pan. Curious as to how it would hold up on a pork chop seared on a charcoal grill? Feel like it would drip and melt before it would get caramelized into a crust.
This is the only correct answer
Or... stand wherever you are and have fun because going to concerts is more about the experience of seeing music live and being around people than anything else. If you are there for sound quality, go home and put some headphones on.
