It took me too long to realize this. The ability to import a "CD Key" from games into Steam is totally awesome—you can buy the game anywhere for the lowest price possible, then "download" it in Steam as if you had bought it there. I recently got the new Tomb Raider for $10 on Amazon, but it's as if I got it on Steam.
