This....flew to Bali from the US on Qatar airways, wasn’t bad at all.
I’ve only done the trans-Atlantic flight twice (Toronto -> London Gatwick and Toronto -> Dublin) on Air Transat and Aer Lingus. I don’t really have much to complain about from either airline really. The flights were more or less painless. Granted, those were only 7 hour flights. I’m doing Toronto -> Seoul -> Hanoi in…
Exactly, the US carriers treat you like they could care less about you beyond your money. Most of the airlines outside the US treat their passengers far better. On my trip from Boston to Perth Australia with Cathay, the US legs code shared by US airlines were horrible. The international legs with Cathay were great.…
I think it has to be, as people would probably die from blot clots if they had to sit in eco seats like Spirit Airlines uses for trans-con flight.
Qantas and Virgin Australia are fantastic airlines. So comfortable and the flight staffs are top notch.
All true if you are not tall. I am 6'5 and pay the price every flight for “premium” economy. The leg room is soooooooo much better.
I fly up to a few time a year transpacific between the East Coast US and Japan for work. Flying economy on United or Delta is a pretty miserable experience, but most Asian airlines are pretty bearable.
Isn’t that more like US airlines are terrible? “plane food sucks” seems to be a trope, but I never had to complain about food or space on European or Asian airlines, also it was mostly Airbus.
Some Middle Eastern Airlines are freaking amazing! Best I’ve ever been on. Economy AND Business. Ethiad, Qatar, Emirates. Fabulous! I did Royal Jordanian. It’s aiight. Kuwait Air. Meh. I’m looking to try others the first chance I get!
Some are getting better - Delta, for instance is weirdly good now - but I’ve noticed a bit of regression on many carriers. Even Emirates, which used to be the gold standard for indulgent trans-Oceanic travel, is cutting corners.
LA to Taipei and back on China Air - supposedly the worst of the Chinese airlines but still light years ahead of US domestic. Free beer, delicious food, free entertainment.
Yet another example of foreign countries being able to do what the US swears up and down is not possible.
Turkish Air is amazing. They fed us three times flying from NY area to Istanbul. The food was amazing, they gave out toiletries in a souvenir tin box, passed around hot towels, and the price was 100s less than the competition.
Yup. just got back from Bali by way of EVAAir which is pretty good deal. Not horrible food and reasonable service and amenities even in Econ.
This is very true. We flew to from SF -> London -> Cape Town and British Airways blew away the leg we flew back to the states from London. The difference in space was very noticeable. Especially since I’m a large-ish guy (6-1, 210 lbs).
Good to know. You see all these commercials for $300 dollars per eye.
How expensive is it? Is it one of those things where you get what you pay for?
This is the episode I just left off at. Tonally the show is kinda all over the place. I actually think the show does a lot of interesting things. It definitely lied with all the promotion. I was sold on a show that was about vengence ala Revenge aka The Countess of Monte Crisco. Instead my impression of the show eight…
omg, this part of review is so wrong, I can’t even not laugh on that. Watch the show yourself, and then read this review again. It is pathetic, how reviewer hated this show and watched it in full without actually understanding what was going on the screen.
