In LA they are also required to repaint the walls every three years, so if you live somewhere longer than three years, you don’t have to repaint as they are legally required to anyway.

This was on every NPR station while driving to work, and I turned it on midway through his statement, and I honestly thought it was satire for 60 seconds or so.

And such public transportation—or perhaps even just maintaining the roads we already have—could be funded in part with all the money saved not only by forgoing the very expensive road-building projects, but also by forgoing future bills to maintain that road.
