This is beside the point but I still feel I need to bring it up:

The only thing I can think they meant was “sub AAA”. This game, whether you like it or not, looks like like a serious attempt at excellence and not as some filler for gamepass.

What do you mean by “games like this”?

If it’s this easy for you to reduce art theft to a single clause in a multi-paragraph speech about how only a big, mean, meany would say anything negative about images created purely by a machine with zero human touch, it kinda makes me doubt your whole “I’m an artist” thing.

This shit is theft.

It’s... not?

Seriously, when humans create art they don’t literally layer a bunch of picture one on top of the others and start tracing over the bunch of them using smoothing tool to better blend their features.

But that’s literally how AI art generators work. Just layering different pictures together and smooshing

pretty damn vindicating to see one form of evil do the dirty work to take down another, yeah.

Except AI doesn’t make art, and only grifters sell it. Hence my mention of crypto.

We’re at the point where artists are tired that a technology, one who can’t even sketch the most basic of pictures without making a collage made of the art human artists had created in the first place, keep being sold as the next “revolution” of art in an attempt to keep devaluing artists who are already fucking

The thing this isn’t “a machine that sketch then color and paint a picture on it’s own”.

It’s a “machine that generate an image from an agregate of images that were already sketched and drawn and painted by actual humans.... and without said human creations would not be able to generate outputs no matter how well

You clearly didn’t read the post just above your own. It’s not the revolution of art, more than just the “automated collage of often stolen art made by actual humans”:

As many overlook, AI still relies on human labor - it is not creating images or texts out of thin air but needs human input to produce credible

It’s wild how people don’t consider AI art theft when some of the output still has the original artist’s signatures in the image. Like...you’re not even cribbing your friend’s homework, you’re just making a photocopy of it and turning it in as your own.

That’s quite a few words to say basically nothing.

What the techno-utopians who comment on articles like this fail to realize is that they’re considering AI art generators as a neutral tool that has somehow materialized out of thin air. Considered in isolation, it is a promising instrument - but the reality is that such technology is developed and wielded by

lol you sound like all the crypto bros did when it started becoming prevalent. or perhaps you were one of them or still are? either way, its gonna be funny t see just how wrong you are in a year or so when ai art creators get sued into oblivion by disney.

an artist isn’t the style or product they output, its the creativity they bring to the table. AI generated art literally cannot replace that.

I’m not sure why that’s a bad thing? If you prefer PC, you get to play the games on your preferred platform. If you prefer Xbox, you get to play the games on your preferred platform.

This criticism also ignores the business reality: Microsoft doesn’t need 1st party titles in order to make money in gaming.

Gaming, as a percentage of Microsoft’s overall business, is a very small percentage. For Sony? It’s nearly 1/4 of their entire company. This means that Microsoft, if they really wanted, could

That may be disappointing for diehards yearning for some creativity from the brand

Its not like Playstation or Nintendo showed anything that won’t endup on Xbox or PC. Who is complaining?
