I try to teach my kid about kindness, empathy, and respect for others. We live in liberal Brooklyn, but we also choose to live here as being part of a mixed community. Thank you for articulating a very important idea. Give you kids the tools to make up their own minds.

There are some things that I get when it comes to civic engagement (like that one little girl with freakishly encyclopedic knowledge of the presidents and the W puppet), but something about kids and pplitical activism always rubs me the wrong way.
