It’s sort of a collector’s item, a tribute to the person. For example, Jay Leno has Juan Manuel Fangio’s F1 trophy in his garage, gifted to him by Fangio himself. He talks about it with some emotion - clearly he sees it as something like an autograph or a tribute.

Or, like me, you could be driving to your track weekend. I put the hooks on before I leave home, same time as I remove mats and stuff, and then leave them on until the weekend is over.

Agreed, as shown. All cars look peculiar at certain angles, and that seems particularly so for mid engine cars.

I couldn’t agree more, but isn’t part of the problem the audience for such images? I hope I wouldn’t click on a story that published the image, but I’m certainly curious about his condition. I’m not particularly proud of my curiosity, just for the record!

I drove a Cruze sedan rental through a lot of the Rocky Mountain states on a vacation there. Like you say, it wasn’t very exciting, but it was great for covering lots of miles every day. I liked it for the purpose, and it got very good gas mileage too. It was in no way underpowered for going up mountain passes in Utah…
