No, I ordered both my cars and paid well below MSRP on both. You just have to deal with the right dealership.

As a physicist, I would have thought that you could use the magnetorheological effect to do this. Just like a motor can be dual purposed to being a generator (think of MGUs in LMP-1H and F1 cars), it should be possible to dual purpose a magnetic shock to generate electricity when the fluid is compressed.

A ducat for your commentary, good sirrah.

Track days at Summit Point WV. Sorry, no photos, too lazy and too hot.

Would the sharks have fricking lasers? Or would I have to settle for ill-tempered sea bass?

100% agree.

Good to know it’s not just me. I personally never understood the appeal of this.

Yep. Priuses come with gas pedals too, I was amazed to discover.

Pantera? Awesome! When I was a teenager, I loved just saying the name of that car. DeTomaso Pantera.

Alright, man! The stereotypes are annoying, but man they are wonderful cars, right? There’s no automotive need I have that the two cars can’t meet.

They do have signals, and mine has (ordinary, not adaptive) cruise control. Also, Toyota Priuses do have gas pedals and can travel in lanes other than the leftmost.

I am not. But Northern Virginia is no better, trust me. I often find myself as the only one in a left turn lane who’s using signals.

It wouldn't be a Jalopjoke if it weren't cliched!

True. I think the reason is that Porsche sports cars are not very practical so the assumption is that you buy one because you like cars. If my theory is right, then Panamera, Cayenne, and Macan owners would be perceived as assholes. I don’t know if that’s true.

Damn! Busted!

Since I own a BMW and a Porsche, I have a steep hill to climb to overcome stereotypes, but I do try my best.

“To the Hindenpeter!”

Not all my stuff...just passport, wallet, and phone.

I carry those in my cargo pant pockets (well, not laptops). For just this reason - although happily it’s never happened to me.

Yeah, that was the question I had too. It looks like it stays in the left two lanes, so maybe it’s a way of enforcing lane discipline, but I can see where your nav says, “Prepare to turn right” when you’re in the middle lane and now you’re screwed.
