Isn’t this what we’ve all asked for? Basic cheap ass base models? Maybe it’s just a tactic to have their “starts at” price way below competitors and they’ll sell only a dozen of these but maybe it actually sells to the masses and they see the light. Maybe other manufacturers see that it works and start selling cheaper

This is what I thought when I read this. I don't know how these things actually work but it should go to a car character rather than an entire model. Like Herbie can get a star but not VW beetles itself. But then again I really don't care about this too much and they can give a star to Coca-Cola and brown leather

Everytime I see these commercials I always wonder who actually does this. Based on the type of houses shown and the clothes the actors wear, I assume these people are supposed to represent the 1%. The type that can just spend 60k on a car and gift it without little concern to their monthly budget.

The Peloton is in the trunk.

This should be the new Halo car. Leave the Miata alone and make it its own car, call it the ex-1.

What I meant to say was, why can’t Ford build something like this. They built us the svt lighting, they should be able to very easily and cheaply (cheaper than 86k at least) build a street truck.

Super ugly. Why can’t ford just make a Ford 150 Raptor ST(street truck).

I was in the military and been to tons of different countries. I hated going out with some coworkers because they were pretty much clarkson. The whole, “if it’s not American its gross and weird” thing gets old quick.

I had the same combo for awhile. The mazda5 for the daily and the Miata whenever I was by myself, or whenever one of the kids wanted to run around the neighborhood with the top down. Sadly I had to sell the Miata because of a move and I never got to replace it.

Couldn’t Subaru just open an STi shop in the US, have them just mod regular STis into the fancy models and sell them as aftermarket cars to save a butt load of money? They'll still have a factory warranty and all the fancy certification collectors would want.

Knowing GM they’ll just throw a different set of headlights and a Corvette badge on the Blazer and call it a day.

The new NSX asks the same question.

If this ever makes it to production they need to offer a base pleb version so us poors can get in on some midship action. I’m thinking, 200hp NA, traditional manual, regular poor man cloth seats, regular ass brakes, no carbon fiber anything, just basic electronics with no nannies, and price starting at 20k. These will

This. My cousin and I thought about doing something similar to this. We'd buy 90's imports for as cheap as we can buy them, fix them up to be as reliable to where they can drive them worry free for a few years and just sell them for just enough for what we need to get the next car started.

Sell them without the bodies.

I prefer none as well but since back up cameras are required cars NEED to come standard with a screen. I say give me a screen that only turns on when backing up, stays off the rest of the time. I don't need apps in my car.

60" widescreen or nothing for me. That’s why I haven’t bought a new car yet, screens aren’t big enough. Replace the windshield with a touchscreen and you got all my dollars. All $100 of them.

Dear GM,

Ideally it would out perform cars twice the price. Kinda like the ZO6 Corvette. But then again I don’t anyone sees the ZO6as a Halo car, maybe just a tarted up Corvette.

They should just make the a Halo version of the Miata. Carbon fiber everything and slap a turbo on it. Price it at 50k and Mazda got itself a cheap to make Halo car.
