Seraph of the End
For me video game industry in Japan are downsizing not because it’s quality, but because video game industry are folding by his own height. Some time ago a studio could release a game that become a hit with little effort and money. Today a game hit can be more expensive than a Hollywood movie. Time goes by and the…
As I mentioned, Anno’s films feature some of the most amazing blending of 2D / 3D animation, and I think the future lies somewhere within that medium. I don’t think anime will die off, but, the traditional anime that we think of when we think of that word, will continue to grow and evolve with time. Which, in any…
Well yeah, kind of but that’s not really healthy for either industry. Games doesn’t have it nearly as bad either once you move out of the AAA space. It’s not even like otaku can’t be super creative and talented. It’s just that unless you have a healthy dose of people who aren’t super obsessed with what the medium’s…
I doubt they will be limited anyway. Starbucks makes them for every region as souvenirs. My mother buys a mug every time she goes somewhere on a trip. Her cupboard has mugs from different states and countries. They are really nicely made mugs, though. So really, unless my mom gets lucky every time, I doubt they are…
The main reason I grind my own coffee is cuz I usually have my coffee in the middle of the night; I don’t want to make a racket and disturb the other people in the house.
There’s a lot of problems in anime definitely, mostly around stuff like pay and not being able to attract creative talent outside of hardcore anime otaku. However, none of the other places in asia are really blowing up right now. Korea has animation talent, but they need an auteur to jump-start the industry there.…
Which is really sad because once China had a rich upcoming animation industry. One that was willing to take risks with violence or pull from it’s rich cultural history. Such as Monkey King 1964. There was some serious raw talent there that after the revolution was stifled or left for better pay without the censorship…
After not having one for years, Tottori Prefecture prefecture finally got its first Starbucks this past Saturday
after that fight against the minotaur there better be a second season for danmachi
All Hail Hestia!
I never saw anime as the intentional “exporting” of culture, but that the idealized Japanese lives of popular anime characters were inherently appealing to people of other cultures. This led to the symbols and idiosyncrasies of everyday Japanese life to become commonly known anywhere anime has become popular.
My mom complained to me the other day that she doesn’t like how there’s three years between every Avengers movie, and I had to point out to her that thats because you need that build up through the other movies/tv shows to get to that big Avengers crossover. That’s when it hit me that not only is a 60 year old woman…
The Anime Industry is going to die!
They do this also because many Manga or light Novels do not even have the material to be a 24 episode show. Take Dan Machi for example there is not much left beside that so it ends with Episode 12. which is a shame because man that Anime is good^^
I don’t see this decline at all, we went from 25-30 shows per season in 2010 to 45+ in 2015, isn’t the anime industry growing?
Well. Build it and they will come.
Yeah, wish we had stuff like this over in the states.
You just described our bedroom. Herm.
