Yeah, maybe import sales themselves might help. Though I wonder if that might be counterintuitive when it comes down to justifying an actual localization effort. If it is that risky to do so financially, I can see maybe a digital release like many Japanese companies do these days.

I think they could at least commit to English voices like they did with the entire series including DOAX series so far. I just think they should be more upfront. Though I guess it is understandable a company doesn’t want to throw around economic realities at consumers too.

I think DOAX2 being locked to the 360 could have impacted the sales a lot though. DOAX3 being on an explosively popular PS4 system + fans waiting a lot longer for a sequel could increase the sales. We’ll see. But I think there’s definitely a chance it can actually sell higher than before. I do think economics is an

For one, this series is nowhere near as sexual as it is touted as. The only way it can be is if the player operates the camera and manipulates it a certain way. Also, the volleyball motif actually makes it so that the girls all wear bathing suits instead of underwear/lingerie. The visual appeal of it all is just light

It has some sexual comedy that can get risky but overall it definitely is a farming anime. It just looks more sexual than it actually is. Also what the picture doesn’t really show is that it has a lot of manservice too.

They could always just release it and don’t worry about what complainers and non buyers of it will have to say. Just sell it as a fan spinoff series it always was. DOAX2 was also released without much controversy too. Though that was a different time in terms of the internet, if they want to just quietly release it,

It sold more than double it did in Japan, so yes.

Yeah, but it won’t have spoken English (as of now) . Some fans who are familiar with the English voicing of DOA and DOAX series might prefer that.

My whole point is that it could be interpreted in many ways. Not just ‘the one’. I know it has room for misunderstanding. That was my whole point. You seem to really push the idea hard that it’s absolutely sexual assault imagery and I just think you’re lording that onto me like it’s something we established. By no

Of course the comment from the one worker doesn’t reflect upon the entire company. People just need to calm down and see where the localization picture takes it. It only sounded dire because KT kept making statements that it won’t get localized, but there’s always a chance + language differences could have made it

Except there’s no reason to think there’s any other person involved in the picture.

Constantly telling me that it is something you see isn’t convincing me. Stop imposing your opinions upon me like I need to agree. Calm down and back off. I’m just telling you from my perspective of someone who has actually seen the show, followed the artist and know the prefecture actually had other ads for it before

Nope. You are kind of wrong about that assessment. The show is actually quite a lot about farming. The ‘fanservice’ implied isn’t even that heavy in the show itself. There’s only a few episodes with actual fanservice but rest if straight up farming comedy/drama.

They are all way above college aged..

That doesn’t make any sense here because this show IS entirely about the comedy. It doesn’t even have that much ecchi as people think it does.

Her attire is a dead giveaway for farm work in Japan though. Maybe it doesn’t seem like it to westerners.

I don’t see why that is a big deal. They already promoted this prefecture with the anime for a long time now. It’s just one art they have issue with. Not the entire campaign.

I don’t think that is an issue because they already used this show to promote the prefecture for a long time now and will likely continue to do so, with different art. It’s basically one of the few modern anime that touches upon the culture of the region, and it raising awareness for the place has worked pretty well

The artist always had a knack for drawing more extreme character reaction faces than usual, so that is probably why. But it’s too much to actually imply the artist is actually drawing something showing ‘human rights violation’ or abuse. It’s just the artist’s particular styling. I get it if it seems risqué, but to

Yikes. Something about its jerky movement is giving me uncanny valley feeling. It’d be more comforting if it moved more smoothly, as people assume a robot should.
