Well there are going to be fakes at everything, but a "fake geek" is someone who really is ignorant of all things geek, but for whatever reason attests that they are a geek. Anyone who would pay the money to get into RTX would have to be a geek on some level, it's just too much money to slap down on a fraud.

If you're at a con, that pretty much already says you're not fake. In my opinion though, you can't be a "fake" geek. Just varying degrees and angles of geek. Any geek is good geek for me.
