My impression was that Kesha’s mom made the info public first and then the spokesperson followed up. Other blogs mentioned that Taylor was the maid of honor at a childhood/high school friend’s wedding this weekend. If that were me, I'd tell my staff to address it and focus on my loved ones.

Indeed - a series of Ms. Swift’s tweets helped get mighty Apple to change policies, so the thought that support on this issue could be helpful isn’t *out of nowhere*.

Well.... she’s not wrong. 2 of the most powerful women in music, who use feminism as part of their brand, have said absolutely nothing about a shitshow in their own industry.

That doesn’t make her argument illegitimate. Not to mention, she does lightly address the mistreatment of survivors in her first tweet; she seems to propose more advocacy from other feminists (male or female) in order to alleviate this problem.

That “system” does include women. Ignoring that doesn’t strike me as a good call for the sake of women.

I think she did a good job of calling out everyone.
