I think the biggest issue with the pay wall for mods is that there’s no expectation that the mod creator keep their mod up to date. So you could buy a mod, and then an update for the game is released which breaks the mod, and the mod maker has moved on to other things so they have no interest in updating the mod.

Yeah I think that’s one of the biggest things. The barrier to providing content on consoles is much higher than on PC, and then there’s the constant updates that usually come with mods. I feel like most mod makers won’t even want to bother with that system.

Meh people were making their own maps long before Halo. Though Halo was the first to make a simplified tool for it. I’ll give it that.

Huh. Now you know how I’ve felt about every military shooter released in the last 10 years. Except they didn’t have the whole let you create your own maps and modes thing either.

Run and Gun has been around since way before CoD. Have you ever played the original Doom, or Quake? How about any of the Serious Sam or Unreal Tournament games? Run and Gun was what those games were built on. Sprinting was added by Medal of Honor. Dash and Double Jump both were added by Unreal Tournament 2004, nearly

I loved it! Definitely feels more like Doom than Doom 3 did. More action shooter. Less survival horror. Though one thing the original had that I didn’t see here was some of the OH SHIT RUN AWAY moments.

Simply will not be preordering this game because of it’s ridiculous DLC and preorder bonuses that are unique to each retailer. This kind of crap needs to stop. The only people who get to have everything out of these situations are pirates.

Dishonored was a pleasant surprise. I’m fairly excited to see how the sequel looks

Honestly world pvp has been a horse with a broken leg for some time. It has a more negative impact on the on the ground experience than flying does. All it really has ever been is lower level players running around trying to level, who then get ganked by an organized group of max levels that roam in packs and kill

Justice isn’t something that is always given in this world. It’s been two seasons since the red wedding, and still we’ve seen no ill fall upon Walder Frey and his family. Mellisandre, while evil, is also undeniably powerful. A sacrifice isn’t a real sacrifice if you’ve lost nothing at the end. Stannis just sacrificed

To everyone recommending that Ham83 use VLC, VLC does not support bluray. Neither does MPC, or CCCP. Typically when you buy a bluray drive for PC it comes with bluray playback software.

VLC does not support bluray playback. I know. I tried to get it to work. The best I could find was stuff about ripping blurays into 30 minute clips to playback normally.

So from what I see it seems that the entire game is like creative mode with the possibility of dying, but no real ramifications for that. Does anyone knows if theirs plans for a survival mode of any kind? Part of the appeal of minecraft was it’s crafting system. Finding rare materials while exploring caves and then

There’s very little creativity in guns these days. Only game that comes to mind with different guns (meaning not your regular military shooter) was bulletstorm, which was severely underrated.

Hence why I proposed they release flying for the previous region with the release of expansion packs. That way players who are returning there to do quests can do it quickly and painlessly, but the vast majority of players will have moved on to new content so that players leveling there won’t be swarmed with max level

I wish there was a dialogue in the industry how intrusive DRM can actually encourage piracy, and how investing in it costs more money than it generates in “forcing” people to buy it. Most recent example was Dragon Age Inquisition. Apparently there was a huge amount of money dumped into developing a unique new

I think the issue is that flying negatively impacts all players who are going through the content that aren’t level 100. I understand why it’s not in the game for level 100’s right now. It separates players from the world. It lessens the impact of the environments and the story they want to tell on the ground.

I do have to say that right now, not being able to fly has improved Draenor’s experience. That being said, they SHOULD introduce flying with the first patch of the next expansion, where players are just trying to get through the content to level up.

I wonder if the author of this article will see this. DAI still has problems today. There’s a huge forum of PC players who, despite using Origin, cannot get DAI to go online. That means we get no access to any of our purchased DLC, DA Keep saves, or other online content.
