Here, I googled “raped in bakery” for you:

It does happen everywhere. You’re in denial.
Of course. Any outspoken woman is “acting like a dude” in the opinion of these men.
Exactly. Weinstein and Louis have said very clearly with their actions, “this is who the fuck I am.” Maybe we should listen??
In Israel the @ symbol is pronounced “strudel”, because we think it kind of looks like an apple strudel. So now when I see Americans writing “don’t @ me”, I read it as “don’t strudel me” and it’s very confusing.
You think that Burr and Cranston are the only people saying this? Sexual harassment and assault victims have to hear this from people they know as well. I knew that as soon as the truth about Louie C.K came out that people would say it’s not that bad and maybe if he gives a good apology and takes a break he can be…
Don’t @ Me is a fine title for a recurring feature.
Seriously. All these men have already proven that they use their power to abuse women. Maybe we should give new talents a chance, or try to promote the careers of those abused women, before we start entertaining thoughts of giving these proven abusers a second chance to possibly fuck over more people.
This is kinda not surprising at this point. Andy Partridge has always been...difficult.
These are men who have REPEATEDLY demonstrated that they cannot be trusted in positions of power and influence.
Welcome to our world, men. We’ve had to censor ourselves, be judged, be cast out. We are cornered, stalked, told we’re worthless, told we’re shit. And usually that’s just for doing our jobs. I was laid off from a vet clinic with 5 minutes’ notice because “My accountant says I can’t afford you anymore”. This was right…
Exactly nothing “happened “ to them, they all CHOSE to DO these things.
I will not feel bad for someone that might just have to change careers because of their bad, illegal and damaging behavior. Sorry if the only job you can get is at McDonald’s, but YOU FUCKING DID THIS TO YOURSELF and YOU DAMAGED OTHER PEOPLE ALONG THE WAY AND TOOK THEIR LIVES AND SELF WORTH FROM THEM.
No, they don’t get to come back. They can go do something else with their lives the way many of their victims were forced out of their careers (because of reprisals, fear, being blacklisted, or so damaged they have been in survival mode). Fuck these men, and fuck the privileges they’ve been afforded for YEARS while…
So there are no egotistical male chefs? Bakers? Accountants? Buiness men of all stripes?
Newsflash, rape and sexual harassment *do* actually happen everywhere! I didn’t see that line as trying to minimize the problem, but rather draw people’s attention to what may be happening nearby, because the common human impulse is to say, ‘oh that only happens with those predators in Hollywood, never in my…
I totally get your point; I really do.
this shit happens everywhere. those men just had the resources to be more blatant about it. But every sector, every field, every community has these egotistical and pathological predators. Not just predators, every area of society have creeps that sexually harass peers and subordinates of all ages and genders. Public…
places where you have egotistical, entitled men with a lot of power, access to younger, weaker, often desperate prey, and people willing to cover for them
That’s an interesting perspective. While I do agree that the wealthier and more powerful a person is, the likelier he can have engaged in overt and continuous sexual harrassment/assault and have it hidden from view, again, I do not find this solely endemic to Hollywood or to DC.
