I guess I’m more willing to accept it from someone like Skeet Ulrich who said something similar, but with the caveat that he just felt he couldn’t do anything about it because of who he is and where he sits on the Hollywood ladder. I love Tarantino’s movies, but I think he probably has the amount of clout in

Exactly, I’m glad he came clean, but the admission is missing the important piece of “But I didn’t say anything because____.” Because I too harass women? Because I wasn’t sure I could make the millions on my own? I feel the same way about Robert Rodriguez. Works with HW a shitton. Dated (married to?) Rose McGowan.

Who would have thought that Quentin Tarantino would be the first person to admit he knew Weinstein was crossing the line and he should have been a better person and not worked with him?

Yeeeahhhhh. John Kelly and I were born the same year. We’re both 67. I don’t ever remember women being “sacred.” I do, however, remember being catcalled, harassed, fondled, called names, threatened, and paid less than the men I worked with. He and I are obviously remembering things differently. Gee, wonder why?

It’s straight up denial. Women weren’t sacred, we were objects. Belongings.
Unless of course he’s talking about our “sanctity” which was in reality yet another possession of men.

also he’s talking bullshit. Women have not, will not, and should not be “sacred.” Objects are sacred. Women are human people. Some are assholes, some are saints. Just like eeeeeveryone else.

“Sacred” is code for not fully human. The same kind of arguments the Victorians made about women which kept us from voting, working outside the home in professional careers (other than poor women who could work for a pittance of what men made), or even having any control over our own bodies. Women were too “precious”

And not for nothing, but an era where women lacked reproductive, social, and economic agency due solely to the actions of men was in no way holding women “sacred”. It was owning them.

In 1950s-1960s America, those sacred women - as many as 50% of them in peak years - had a sacrament, too. Commonly referred to as “mother’s little helper”, the go-to tranquilizer was Miltown.

He works for Trump.

It’s straight out of Benevolent Sexismville. He could go on tour with Mike Pence.

Women were sacred=women knew their place.

forgive my mansplain but...

He thinks that “looked upon with great honor” means having all of their decisions made for them and not letting them have any financial power.

thank you. we’re not goddamn mythical creatures or deities or little flowers or aliens we’re PEOPLE. it should not be this difficult.

I don’t want to be sacred. I want men to keep their hands, and their laws, off my pussy. You think you’re helping, Kelly, but you’re not.

John Kelly would have been “a kid growing up” in the 50s and 60s. I know the old folks all tend to be a little selective in recalling the good ol’ days, but holy fucking mother of fuck, people. If a man of his supposed intelligence really believes the 19fucking50s were the glory days for women being “looked upon with

“Pro” tip, wrap them in wax paper instead. You can throw wax paper directly into the microwave. It’s what I’ve been doing for my pre-made breakfasts for months and it works wonders.

Would it help if I told you the story about my aunt getting in trouble with the secret service for throwing a whole cooked ham at Dick Cheney?

Conflict: I really like Amy Adams movies and I enjoy most Christian Bale movies but I really, really, really cannot stand Dick Cheney and watching a movie about him seems like some sort of punishment. So can one of y’all watch it for me and then report back? ‘Cause I’m out.
