Thank you for calling this “2014 Tumblr” so I didn’t have to.
Norm is Norm. None of this is surprising, and people who are surprised by it probably haven’t followed his career, especially in the past couple decades. I don’t begrudge him for feeling sympathy for Barr, but perspective is in order. Do I expect him to reemerge with less problematic views, or an apology? Nope. Cuz,…
The first statement was just a fact: Norm used Hardwick as an example of someone who had been unfairly ruined by one accusation.
Frankly, I choose to stay away from discussing the Hardwick situation because it’s gray as fuck and there aren’t clear answers. I grew up with an emotionally abusive father and the dynamic she describes, as well as the subsequent public dynamic between the two, really echoes my own experiences. So I have private…
Yeah, I’m not against the concept of forgiveness. But I think Norm chose bad hills to die on.
I was speaking from a purely objective point of view: You fuck up enough, you’re gonna pay the price. In my opinion, though, CK’s never deserved redemption. Or when he did, it was a quick-sailing ship. He violated women that respected him, in the industry in which he was worshipped. Fuck that.
Why forgive people who’ve already had multiple chances at redemption?
CK jerked off in front of fellow comics. His “job” is being around these people — he’s a comic.
An abused partner begging for their abuser to come back and blaming themselves for the breakup? Yeah, you’re right, that’s not at all common behavior.
I’m happy to just copy and paste my response to the same comment:
He admitted to exposing himself and masturbating in front of women without their consent.
Would I prefer an admitted sex criminal to be brought up on sex crimes? Yes, yes I would. What does that have to do with anything?
Rhetorical devices, what the fuck are they?
How so?
But that’s exactly what he said when referencing LCK, Barr, and Hardwick.
I love this.
Everyone is great on this show, but a special shoutout to B.D. Wong. Now we finally know why his parents named him Big Dick. He rules on this show.
Yeah, and I just don’t understand how that’s surprising to anyone.
Without them inflating in cost, or fracturing once the corporations caught on? Gimme a break. Everyone saw that from a mile away. That’s capitalism, babyyyyy.
