Man, i played the crap out of PSO but I always felt I was missing some overarching story or call back to the older games. Definitely need to give them a go.

You dont mention if combos play into the amount of garbage you throw out. Some players just build up tetris’ but others go for creating long combos, clearing minimal lines to send garbage as well. At least thats how it worked in other tetris “battle” games.
