I was gonna make a comment on the hats fitting in the car but then they went and showed how that squished hat fit in there.

I actually wouldnt have a much of a problem with this scene if they engineered tires and wheels for specifically this purpose. I.E. Increased tread material at the inner contact patch, Stronger inner sidewalls, grippier tread pattern in the area of contact, etc.
