I used to reinstall XP probably at least once a year if not more frequently. Since Windows 7 I've had the same install since I upgraded to an SSD which was about 2 years ago. No reason to reinstall quite yet I don't think. Things have been very stable.

Great advise, love the desk and work space. I think I'll have to try out MusicBee I've been using Winamp for as long as I can remember!

I have really been cutting back on my coffee intake. Lately I have about 2 cups a day, 2 or 3 days a week. The other 2 days of the work week I drink tea with very low caffeine. I used to be a lot worse, drinking 4 cups a day 5 days a week.

I keep in my car jumper cables, a blanket, small air compressor that runs off of DC power in case I get a flat or slow leak, adjustable wrench, flash light, Leatherman Multi-tool with pliers, and this time of year in WI a small snow shovel in case I need to dig myself out of a parking lot that is unplowed or a ditch.

I've been pulled over in the WI Dells before, those cops are seriously very bored. Driving through on a Tuesday afternoon to visit a client close by, I got pulled over going 70 in a 65. Okay so I was technically speeding, but seriously, I-94 everyone is always doing 85+. Just glad I only got a warning.

Depends on where you are in the state. Up in the northern part of the state everyone is cruising along at a good clip 15-20 over. However in the city of Madison where the number of Prius drivers out number every other make/model the speed on all roads are usually 10 under the limit due to getting stuck behind people

Not saying I am breaking the law constantly, but I'm usually flying past everyone who sticks to '65' on the highways. I am normally doing about 80+ on my way up north from Madison. This is how traffic should flow!

This is pretty typical of Illinois bastards. They are always hogging up our Wisconsin interstate highways clogging up the left lane speeding up, then slowing down, speeding up, slowing down, repeat. As if they have never heard of cruise control. The speed limit is 65 at least go the speed limit for shit sake if you

In my G35 I've gone about 75 miles further on the highway once the light turned on. According to the manufacturer's stated fuel tank size, I still had about 3 gallons of fuel left! No idea how far I could have stretched it! And that is only getting about 20mpg.

+1 for Paradigm. I've had my 5.1 Monitor set for over 5 years now. Love them.

I have owned Pioneer and Yamaha receivers before. I'm currently using an older Yamaha 5.1 receiver connected to my Paradigm 5.1 speakers. Been pretty happy so far, and I've had the receiver for over 5 years now. Never had any problems.

I have an older 5.1 set of the Paradigm Monitor series bookshelf speakers. The front channels are sitting on top of my fire place mantel. Very small, yet very good quality.

Toyota: We build beige appliances that will get you stuck in same mundane traffic jam every day of your life just so you can go to your mundane desk job that you hate.

Kia: Too bad it's a Kia.

Thats awesome that your city will let you have an "irrigation well" around here we can't have city and well water together, people with older homes were eventually forced to get onto the city water supply and sewer unless you live outside the city limits. Our house was built in the 40's so we also have a real wood

My poor Legacy knows your Legacy's pain. I always have a bit better time bombing my wife's Tribeca over broken WI roads in the winter time than anguishing over every road imperfection in the Legacy. Time to upgrade to Forester?

It's been wonderful to waste hours at the office every day and read Lifehacker posts from all of you, thank you for that! I've learned an enormous amount of information in the past couple of years that I've been coming here daily. Thanks Adam and good luck in your future endeavors!

Leather. Lots of leather and wood. And carbon fiber.

It really depends on the status that the old computer is in and what is useful in it. There are many computers that I will just strip out the PSU, RAM, and DVD drive, etc. and throw those parts into bins in my basement. If the parts are not salvageable and if they are of no use to me, then it gets thrown away or

Bridgestone Blizzak's. Had pretty good luck with those in the past.
