Yeah...but the law was original meant to help out same sex couples when they were still prohibited from marriage.  Now that same sex couples can marry, not sure why civil partnership needs to be same sex only.  It’s not a major victory for human rights.  But maybe a minor victory for “Yeah, I guess that makes sense.”

That’s true. But I also thought of it as redefining the civil partnership law so that it’s not the “gay marriage law” but is simply a law for anyone who wants a legal partnership arrangement.
