David Zaslav is a cancer that will destroy anything remotely creative if it doesn't give his precious shareholders a chubby in terms of profit

a lot aren’t. also communicating via zoom, slack etc isn’t the same as in-person. hybrid is the future.

I just talked to an executive at a very smart tech company that decided not to lay off their entire talent staff during the tech recession, but instead to re-train them to do other critical tasks.  This way, they get people who know the company doing important stuff, and the talent staff will be in place to snatch the

Another week, another comment from Beefsquatch reminding saying bring back the guillotine. Late stage capitalism is the enemy and shareholders are the cancer

In other, completely unrelated news:

100%. I work for a fortune 500, and it is the same cycle every time. Our economy is dependent on the myth of unlimited growth. When you lay off all of these people, it frees up reporting cash for shareholders to see. Which means when they actually do have growth, they will need to re-hire anyways and have massive

Over 6000 layoffs in the video game industry, but how many people have been laid off in the Tech Industry altogether from 2023-present? The fact that companies can just throw their workers away while claiming record profits is ugly capitalism at its finest, but the sheer unchecked accountability for companies to

It’s annoying that they edited it, but I’m more annoyed by people giving her shit for her voice cracking. Like, it happens to every singer. You can’t predict it or account for it, it just happens sometimes. And she recovered from it as smoothly as you possibly can.

Someone on Reddit gave the theory that she might be playing the Seraphite prophet, and I that would be such a cool role for her

Oh come now, they didn’t “lose.” A Trump appointed judge dismissed the case, which Disney would have anticipated and which they will have a response for, and the case will continue. A case being dismissed due to a lack of standing means that it wasn’t even considered on its merits, so Disney in no way “lost.” The

the suit jacks off Master Chief

Then maybe the show shouldn’t focus on Master Chief but the people around him and the grander mission and politics.

And monetize the HELL out of ‘em!

That this is some kind of revelation to S-E management says a lot about how separated from reality they’ve been. Focusing on fewer games and making them good sounds like a great strategy, but still doesn’t really solve any of the core problems S-E seems to have looking at them from the outside.

Going all-in on a small number big money projects (don’t believe that Square Enix is capable of making an “indie game”) that you cannot afford to have fail doesn’t seem like a great strategy when you look at what the receptions to Square Enix’s 2023 releases were.

The Part 2 twist will definitely not be as controversial on TV. Audiences of every other narrative medium other than games have long gotten used to that kind of story. The Red Wedding was a decade ago. People will get over the shock by the next morning.

She just needs to look like she’s spent a significant portion of her life training to beat the ever-loving shit out of the man who killed her father. She doesn’t need to be huge, just in very, very good shape. It’s important for us to believe that she was obsessed, not that she was necessarily born with the bone

A little surprised they aren’t fishing for three seasons by expanding the time jump and throwing flashbacks in there. Having an entire season about Ellie and Joel falling apart and finally about to reconnect, only for him to get brutally killed in the finale, is the sort of thing a show can do that a video game can’t.

I have ideas... in Minecraft.

They’re really working hard to build back the goodwill they destroyed a few months back, huh?
