Okay, that was pretty good. There’s life in AVClub writing yet.

By cancer location, screening colonoscopy was associated with a 65% reduction in risk of death for right-colon cancers (aOR=0.35, CI 0.18 to 0.65) and a 75% reduction for left-colon/rectal cancers (aOR=0.25, CI 0.12 to 0.53).”

Very little evidence — as little as 20%

That line was tailor-made for the perfectly-cast Anton Lesser. The only better line reading I can think of from the Disney+ SW shows is Werner Herzog’s “Can I offer you a libation to celebrate the closing of our shared narrative?”

My personal favorite line, from the ISB Meeting:

I don’t know your definition of ‘dark’ sci-fi, but if you’re leaning in the ‘gritty’ Blade Runner direction, Andor is in fact not that, and why I feel it’s refreshing not just for Star Wars but the current cyberpunk-obsessed grimdark sci-fi landscape in general. Andor is an ‘adult’ ‘mature’ show insofar as it...

Well, I’m eating my words because it’s surprisingly great and I’m sad to hear others never gave it the same chance I did.

I was completely against this show when it was announced. I even said “who asked for this show?!” to express my distaste.

I don’t know about the rest of y’all, but I’d watch a series just about the Harfoots annual migrations and the trial and tribulations they encounter while roaming about Middle Earth.

Steve Martin’s line reading on “I’m nervous to talk to people, because i can come off creepy.”

We need to protect Joe Pesci from this curse at all costs.

People who really have it out for trans people are often upset because the notion of transitioning implies that the gender binary is kind of bullshit, which they may then take to imply that part of their identity, which is built around certainty about their own masculinity or femininity, is under assault. It’s not,

NIMBYs a hell of a drug.

That’s the truly amazing thing about Dave’s trans jokes. The fact that he’s a bigot doubling down on his hot take isn’t shocking at this point, but you’d think a professional comedian long lauded as one of the finest the industry has ever seen would have better material than an average YouTube comment.

So is this Chappelle’s whole shtick now, he’s just gonna be the “trans jokes guy” from now on?  What’s next on his agenda, doing a set at CPAC?

It’s not even “not being an asshole,” it’s “not being a bigot.”

Being against transphobia is basic human decency.

Yeah but there’s a difference between a comic who isn’t to your taste and a straight up, well documented bigot.

One man’s too much Kristen Schaal is another man’s just the right amount of Kristen Schaal

I friggin’ love that doll.
