@divinelioness: "You're darker, but you're pretty."
@divinelioness: "You're darker, but you're pretty."
@mandiandi: That is a clueless and vicious comparison, and if I were you I'd check myself a little.
I understand where she's coming from and I can't find it in me to get upset about it. In our society black women are consistently held up against the impossible-to-attain beauty standard of the white woman and found wanting.
I have had the best results just dabbing a little foundation over my red spots, and layering tinted moisturizer over the rest. A layer of foundation everywhere just feels gunky and looks masky no matter what I do.
Wood and Manson are in fact engaged—I know a relative of hers. I'm going to try to get this relative to smack some sense into her with a big trout or something.
@Crantastic: Yo, and I bet your average hardcore porn shoot is lightyears more professional than any of this crap.
Traditional? Jesus wept.
@dancerevolution: I think some of her hiiiiigh-cut thong-wearing is visually related to all the bulk and shape and structure she has going on above-the-waist, from extended shoulders to superlong sleeves to extended headgear. The extreme bareness on the bottom keeps it cheeky and balances all that bulk up top.
@miggery sow: I find people ugly who always have a nasty expression on their face.
@susanconfusion: Honestly, I think the photos are kind of irrelevant. The photos are raunchy, yes, but not inherently suggestive of abuse or harassment.
I used to really struggle getting the liner at the very edge of my eyelid—there would either be a visible gap between liner and lashes, or the lashes would make my line all crooked.
@AvantGardenia: Please rethink your analogy.
I'm confused: is he using menstrual blood as a metaphor for an outpouring of truth and information?
Eyeshadow. I will cake on the foundation, lipstick, blush, mascara, and eyeliner, but if shadow comes anywhere near my face I look like a clumsy kid playing dress-up.
See, more than a couple years back Seventeen magazine told me that Alpha girls were the queen bees, Beta girls were the wannabees, and Omega girls were the tangentially cool ones who bucked that whole Alpha-Beta game to begin with. Their favorite after-school snack was pizza and they liked indie bands and worn…
One of the thing that troubles me most about my stepdad (who sexually abused me and who is no longer a part of my life) is that when I was younger and before the abuse started, he read to me every night and I really cherished those times and those books. Part of me still does—I grew up to love books and books on tape…
I go to school near where that woman murdered her daughter. Our campus was on MEGA SUPER ALERT after the murder, and kids in my class were expecting a shooting spree and all nervous about it. I looked up from my sewing machine and said, "The mom or dad did it. Now relax and shut up."
@Oleander: I doubt it was the hot tub movie—probably his next project.
I miss Jane SO.HARD.
@Cerridwen: The same reason we get Jezebels replying to Jenna's other posts about problems in the modeling industry with stuff like, "No one asked you to model" or "Sorry, I have to get a real job, why can't you?"
