It was under our noses the whole time: xXx is a prequel to RoboCop.

Out of curiosity, how did you find out about Eastern Mind? As best as I can tell, I was patient zero for the game and did the first articles/videos/etc. about it back in the day, and I'm so so interested in how people have discovered it.

Crocomire's skeletal return from Super Metroid. My brother and I first played the game when I was maybe 5 (I'm the younger sibling, so I wasn't at the wheel most of the time), and when we finally got to that part, we were too scared to fight it. (I think we turned the system off in panic when we first saw the

But I did enjoy Q-Bert!

Don't worry, I'm not on fire. It's just a treatment for my sore body.

Aw shit, I forgot that I loved "Melodies of Life." It's less cloying and more emotional than Eyes on Me, but I do in general miss the "pop ballad randomly in the middle of the game" trend that was happening here.

Between us we could probably stealth-fill every comments section with Illusion of Gaia references. Ku ku ku…

Welcome to Gameological, where community discussion is an important part of the whole package! See: the weekly open prompt post and commentariat highlight article.

The ending theme to Illusion of Gaia is a beautiful version of the game in miniature that captures its emotional arc rather than individual themes. In the game, it's accompanied by characters walking on-and-off-screen to represent your changing party over the course of the story. It's a curtain call but also a

The ending theme to Super Metroid is, at least in my opinion, the single greatest piece of video game music. It's just perfect on almost every level, and I always look forward to it at the end of a playthrough.

The idea of making a new arcade experience is great. I certainly enjoy playing X-Men machines and so forth, but the preoccupation with nostalgia-drenched "arcade culture" is often stagnant. Games have evolved dramatically in the last 30 years, and we need to start looking for more interesting ways to celebrate that in

Hit up Food for Thought next to the Black Cat. There's only four machines, but they're all winners (including Twilight Zone!

On the minuscule upside, P.T. is going to become a weird folklore game that's only remembered from hearsay and secondhand accounts. And that's sort of cool. I'm really grasping for anything positive here.

We should chat about it on Lycos+.

I like that the silliness in this one is playing to Mortal Kombat's strength (excessive gritty realistic violence) and not just goofiness for its own sake (turning people into babies and including a go-kart minigame).

"They're giving out the minor technical awards. I think they're up to writing."

This made me look up Anarchy Online to see if it was still running, and it is, and it got new content YESTERDAY. What is their business model?!

Baldur's Gate reminds me of BioWare which reminds me of Jack from Mass Effect. There are some good baldies after all!

Yeah it's sad sometimes. :( On the bright side, Obduction is happening very soon!

Myst Online got revamped recently! The whole thing is free and the servers are still running, even if there's not a lot of activity in the public areas now. It's still great for getting together a group of people who have never played and solving all the puzzles together.
