It is bad optics, but those same CEOs could see their salaries drop next year if the company doesn’t perform to the same level.  Will the union take a pay cut if the CEO makes less next year?  Or will they sign up for a similarly variable structure where only a fraction of their income is guaranteed?

This isn’t helping the conversation. Yes CEOs get paid way too much but the majority of that is stock options or company performance. It would be more beneficial to see their actual salary without bonuses to more accurately compare. For example, I work for PepsiCo. Our CEO “makes” over $25mil/year. Only $1.6 is his

Back in 2018, then again in 2020, Elon Musk promised that Tesla would bring a $25,000 electric car to market within three years. The pandemic may have messed with our collective perception of time, but I’ve done the math, and it’s been five years since that initial promise and we still don’t have that $25,000 Tesla.

I don’t think it should even be legal to put turn signal buttons on a steering wheel. Terrible choice. Turn signal stalks should always be intuitive to access, regardless of the position of your steering wheel. That one change is enough to make this car a no-go for me.

Q: “Can I have a display in front of me as the driver?”

One of my coworkers towed their 60K miles, 2017 Volvo XC90 into the dealer recently and was told that it needs a new engine. They quoted $22K for the replacement. I guess Volvo cars are also obsolete after their warranty is up?

What’s a few extra grand for something you really want?

Not true. Tesla will replace your battery if it drops below 70% within 8 years of purchase.  https://www.tesla.com/support/vehicle-warranty

This isn’t about all EVs. It’s about non-competitive EVs piling up at dealers.

The battery in the EV is part of the drivetrain. It’s like saying, “imagine if my 10-speed automatic transmission was trashed and I couldn’t go to Walmart and buy a replacement in an emergency”

If you can’t afford a new car, you effectively don’t exist to automakers

It’s not really a secret that most car dealerships don’t actually like EVs. They need a lot less routine maintenance and repair than ICE vehicles which means dealers lose a lucrative source of revenue. They also require infrastructure that dealerships largely had to pay for. It’s not really a surprise that they are

I used to think the same thing.

“This isn’t the first time that Kazran has run into trouble with the law, either. Back in 2010, the Federal Election Commission filed a complaint against him alleging that he illegally reimbursed employees of his Florida dealership for close to $70,000 in political donations.”

Agreed. True supercars/hypercars are almost all carbon-fiber tubs these days.

Yea okay. What are you smoking? How many $300k+ 200+ MPH supercars and hypercars exclusively use a heavy steel unibody? The answer is none of them. Hell, the damn C7 Corvette uses an aluminum chassis and there are literal tens of thousands of high mileage examples all over the country. You’re full of shit. A $300k car

Just throwing out there that the 2013-2014 GT500's are a much much much better proposition than the earlier ones. Earlier models used an iron block and were so front heavy that they have genuinely dangerous levels of understeer; for the facelifted models they switched to an aluminum block that made the weight balance

This asshole needs to learn about using the right tool for the job.

“If you don’t like the way I’m treating my Ferrari, you can treat your Ferrari extra nice.”

Nope. I’d rather drive an anonymobile CUV and know for a fact that it’s not cool than drive a PT Cruiser thinking it’s ‘quirky, unique, and cool.’ If I ever hit rock bottom to the point that I’m looking for a damn PT Cruiser to own, I would just accept my fate and just drive a CUV.
