Respectfully - no.

I have no opinion on whether a ‘shared universe” movie with all those characters would make money, and I don’t care - it’s a great idea that HAS to bring a smile to anyone who read any of those series.

Some of my favorite essays/commentaries deal, eloquently, insightfully, with the rewarding moments we get to experience, even if rarely, when we are a fan. Thanks for a great read!

I am going to half-agree with the take, but there is nothing feminist or Progressive or modern about it. It is actually quite old school.

Its inevitable...and pretty crazy. In fairly short order, I expect, you can pretty much say goodbye to all warehouse jobs, shelf stocking jobs, delivery jobs, truck drivers, maybe many airline pilots, many heavy construction jobs, many simple customer service jobs, many receptionist jobs, some security guard jobs,

Loved the audio “theme” for the Prowler, and his look!

I like the idea that anyone can be Force-sensitive; I was never a fan of the biological explanation. On the flip side, I at the same time have no issue with family ties having SOME influence (that is a very old fantasy-trope, after all, in terms of magical abilities or various “sensitivities”). I think both can

There is something weird, compelling and fascinating about a polarizing movie.

Gotta tell you, I think the message of TLJ was just about the opposite of all you said. The SW movies aren’t “the story of how the Jedi suck and screwed everything up”.  TLJ’s Luke, actually, was used as the in-universe stand in for that opinion, which has gained a lot of traction with many fans - and the point of TLJ

What a great, thought-provoking, fun and timely question/topic. Bravo.

Bravo on the monster designs. I wish Mothra’s face/head was a little easier to make out, but that’s a quibble. The creatures look great - derived from the classic, but with some cool stylistic twists. Now, give us lots of awesome, city-smashing monster fights, some - dare I say it? - in relatively good lighting,

I give this a solid 5 out of 10 on the trolling meter. Predictable, kinda mailed in, but still, not entirely ineffective.

I realize this movie has become perceived as a political/cultural litmus test, making anything less than enthusiasm an invitation to get torched as a misogynist but...these trailers aren’t doing much for me. Not sure why. It could be that I am not really well versed in the Capt Marvel mythology, so I don’t have that

I really don’t know what Marvel is up to here.

A great idea. Look, I get it - times change. BUT... when I was a kid, back when dinosaurs walked the Earth, comic books were everywhere, in those spinner racks. Drug stores, news-stands, super markets, train stations, airports, convenience stores, local “markets” (basically, the small local shops that convenience

Whatever happens from here on out, I am glad we got the Affleck Batman. He’s my favorite of those to appear in any movies.

Yeah, you nailed it. There are a few exceptions - for example, I thought the fight between Cap, Falcon and Black Widow, and the Winter Soldier and Hydra, on the streets of DC, was nothing short of amazing. The airport battle in Civil War was fantastic and the final fight in that movie was also pretty memorable. But

I thought they were a little ambiguous about exactly “what” got uploaded. Her consciousness, or (mostly) her navigational database. I have a hard time believing Lando would casually upload her actual “mind” into a ship, basically enslave her, and then just gamble her away.

Wow. Yeah. When the I09 crowd isn’t buying it, when you can’t make the sale to what is probably the most innately sympathetic, self-selected to agree with you bunch you can imagine, maybe it’s time to step back and do some assessment.

So he feigned “authenticity” to write Japanese themed books. And how were those books, BTW? Were they authentic when people thought he was Japanese, but not authentic now? What does that tell you about the worth of “authenticity”?
