Based on the graphics and animations... I’d say they’re telling the truth.

If you’ve ever seen any of the Bungie developer documentary videos on the making of Halo 2, they flat out say that the E3 demo for Halo 2 cost them 9 months of dev time.

This just furthers my argument of ignoring everything you see at E3 and treat it as more of an ideas workshop. Never expect a game you see at E3 to be what you get when it’s released. While many games come really close, you also get things like Colonial Marines (or to a lesser extent Watch_Dogs) and sometimes E3 demos…

Nailed it. That’s exactly why I gave up on GTA 5. I kind of get what they’re doing—forcing you into the mundane to properly contextualize the spectacular—but it misses more than it hits for me.
