Don't listen to them. My first was a 1998 Corolla. Same specs, same engine, I believe. People vastly underrate how much fun you can have with a corolla. No they aren't fast. But when you floor it anything will go. And they are light and very toss able.

Would you put a 22R in a crew cab Tacoma today and then put half a ton of gear in passengers/cargo on it? According to payload ratings and weight differences maybe it would work for a short and indefinite amount of time with three radiators. But not for long.
