There’s a beach about 100 miles from where I live where the authorities planted poison ivy in the dunes.  That does seem to keep most people out of them.

I learned on a ‘51 Ford tractor when I was so young I had to stand up to operate the clutch. My dad drove a school bus. When he went to borrow my ‘63 Bug, he started it in second gear! I told him if he was going to keep doing that he’d have to pay for the clutch.

How many homes (palaces, castles, “cottages”, etc., does the Queen of England have at her disposal to live in? What’s the average number of rooms in each of them? Is there a family on earth with a more extravagant lifestyle, or a larger carbon footprint, than the British Royal Family?

I know of one newspaper that has a pay wall if you access it on a computer, but no pay wall if you access it on your phone.  However, the phone-friendly site is awful.

In the case of my 115-year-old house, I think the solution is to rip up the existing floor and sub-floor, install a new sub-floor of plywood, using construction adhesive and screws, and then lay a new tongue-and-groove floor on that.
