A Vega with 31 miles on it. Just how rusty is it?
A Vega with 31 miles on it. Just how rusty is it?
I used to work at a business next to a railroad station. The business provided parking for its employees as parking for railroad customers was kind of scarce. One day, I got a ticket for parking on the street because some commuter parked in my space. The cop even told me he recognized my car, but there was nothing he…
I’m not sure that’s what’s meant by the phrase, “Giving someone the finger.”
Update: Simon & Schuster won’t distribute it after all. https://www.theguardian.com/books/2021/apr/16/simon-schuster-book-breonna-taylor-jonathan-mattingly-the-fight-for-truth
He’s a drill sergeant. Obviously, for punishment he should be required to do pushups--all the pushups in the world. That would be one way to demonstrate that karma is in fact a bitch.
Entenmann’s crumb cake. Slice the cake horizontally and put butter between the two layers. Yummm!
Even in SOCAL, wouldn’t a half-buried Fiat rust faster than a regular Fiat? And doesn’t that raise the question, “Is it possible for anything to rust faster than a regular Fiat?”
Back in the day, my friend replaced the high-beams in a dual-headlight setup with aircraft landing lights. You couldn’t leave them on because they drew more current than the car produced. But, if you flashed them at oncoming traffic, the approaching driver would definitely dim his brights.
I like music that’s too old to be played on most radio stations. When services like Spotify came along, they would frequently have the wrong version of songs I like. So, I continued collecting. I have CD’s and vinyl records and I’ve read them all into my computer. At home, I listen from the computer, via Bluetooth. My…
Half a million is a little steep for a used car.
My wife was watching a documentary about a mass murderer this morning when I walked into the living room. I told her that in case the show gave her any ideas, she should remember that I’ve met more murderers than she has. In fact, the day before our wedding, a guy on trial for murder (who was subsequently convicted)…
When I was in the Army, we were stationed in an area which was populated both by coral snakes and another snake species with similarly colored bands in a different order, and a differently shaped head. We had a guy in our outfit who was deathly afraid of snakes. One day he said he killed a coral snake with his shovel.…
Pretty damned screwed. AFIK, they didn’t make an cars for civilian use in 1945.
That may be true. I once owned a 72 Buick Roadmonster Estate Wagon. It weighed 5,300 pounds, ran on ambulance tires, and in the winter, if I only drove it back and forth to my office a mile away, the choke never came off. Under those conditions, it got 2 miles per gallon!
I was a reporter at the time and remember everyone at Grumman (which built the lander) and at North American Rockwell (which built the command module) was obviously overjoyed that the crew made it back. As a joke, Grumman sent a towing bill to Rockwell. I remember calling North American Rockwell to ask if they…
When taking nudes of yourself or your significant other, a cell phone is fine. When you want to convince someone who doesn’t fall into either category to get naked, a better camera would probably make a better impression if not a better picture.
Pastrami is a NY food, sure. I mean my wife should have known better when she ordered it on the California coast north of SF. But I’m Catholic and I know damned well that no self-respecting New Yorker would eat it on white bread! What’s next? Pastrami on white toast with lettuce, tomato and mayo?
So presumably, he’s also against yacht control.
I didn’t say it looks cool. I said it looks new. It serves its purpose, and believe me, owning a Frontier is way down my list of problems.
Be careful, David. I understand early Mustangs are prone to rusting out.
