Because “better” doesn’t always equal “more fun.”
Because “better” doesn’t always equal “more fun.”
I go back and forth on the “performance street truck” argument more often than a tennis ball at Wimbledon. On the one hand you’ve got a basic tool gussied up to do something it was never intended to do. On the other hand most performance cars aren’t really that practical in the first place. I’d say a performance…
As I stated in the comments about the Singer mechanical watch - why is it that someone who buys something you can’t afford is always an “idiot” or a “moron” or “wasting their money” - and if someone chooses to buy an older, nicer, cooler car for the same price as a newer, more vanilla, more common “appliance” car,…
At least the reporting is objective and unbiased though.
I know what it’s like to have someone come at me with a knife. It’s not a happy feeling.
08 Sportster 1200 Custom owner here. 10 years, 30k miles, and not a damn thing has gone wrong less a few scrapped batteries from me forgetting my tender during the winter.
It’s my understanding that bikes built outside the US are not sold here. The India-built ones particularly are to circumvent that country’s import restrictions.
exactly, 13 years in and my fathers has needed NOTHING but routine maintenance.
Have you ever owned one? Haha.
The Dodge Dakota hasn’t been sold for over 5 years now, and the newest convertible is over 20. When someone says “available” it’s usually understood to mean “available for purchase new at a dealership”.
Doesn’t matter.
totally good for these guys raising money for a good cause and for having their own version of fun. Sit on your couch and judge if you want.
If you haven’t done either by now, I doubt your sincerity. this entire piece you wrote can be summed up as “these bikes are shit because they’re not the kind of bikes I like.”
they use Instagram decently as well. much better than other brands, IMO
Enjoy bump starting that XR as well! (kidding, you can retrofit standard Ironhead parts or get an electric start kit.) Can’t remember what you do about the magneto though.
My generation too BTW. I use Periscope often, mostly because Porsche does an incredible job showing live track days with their test and pro drivers in street and race cars. I totally agree this isn’t a huge audience draw and I think you and I both agree that we’ll see these bikes on Instagram soon enough. Instagram is…
so much for Lanesplitter being something more than just a bunch of sport/adv. bike snobs.
They could call that paint Olive-gay rainbow- butt humping- denim for all I care... it’s a nice color and it’s name is irrelevant... stop being colorist!
I think this is actually very smart for HD. If they focus on reaching core riders (Baby Boomers and above) they will not be repopulating their rider base. New riders are younger and consume media differently. Periscope is not as scalable as other forms of non-traditional media but it’s a good start for them. I say…
That's an N/A V10 with 4 wheels.
