I’ve got one I call “Old Gray Thing” that I always forget to post. It was a paranormal encounter but I’m still not sure what exactly it was, and I’ve always been curious if anyone else has seen one too. I’m doxxing myself if anyone I know reads this, but here goes nothing...

Yeah the thrift store story is not real. It’s a moderately well written short story but...not real. I wish people would stop treating this as a fiction submission contest, I only want that real shit!

Seriously. That and that humblebrag ass thrift store one. Jesus. “So the fry cook and I saunter over to the 1950's garage and the gentleman confesses to the murder. Quite an odd morning I suppose, but what a great haul!”

I’m surprised the Franny one was picked. It’s so obviously fake.

I didn't believe the thrift store story at all. It seems like complete fiction.

Let’s be a little fair: The outing of porn performers was happening before social media or online databases every existed. Letters sent anonymously, calls to child protective services or even their kid’s schools, etc.

The aforementioned image is like when Mitch McConnell tried to reprimand Elizabeth Warren with the statement “Senator Warren was giving a lengthy speech. She had appeared to violate the rule. She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted.” which she turned around and printed on t-shirts and

I’m not moved by your ambivalence. That’s a room full of men who all should be ashamed of themselves and one person standing up and saying no to the big fat baby, is a woman.

I am not quite moved by a still of Pelosi simply doing her job

When was the last time you sat in a conference room full of men (literally, 16+ to your one), and had to stand up for what was right and call bullshit?  She ain’t a superhero, but for fucks sake she stands for every goddamn one of us that was in that position and COULD NOT stand up because it would have been the end

I think I’d like it if we focused on needing fewer of them, because young people are getting comprehensive sex ed and practicing safe sex as a result, not because we shouldn’t be getting them. I guess that is kind of what they were saying? But I don’t think access should be limited in any way, shape, or form.

hillary is a middle aged woman from a different era and her response was both appropriate and made in the spirit of understanding.

That was how I read it as well. Not as drawing a line between cis and trans women but acknowledging that the lived experiences can be very different.

You have no doubt? Based on...what, exactly?

She's older and this issue is not something she is fully aware of. She said she's still learning and that's great. It shows she's actively learning and curious about current topics as a private citizen. The interviewer comes off bad here is what I read primarily. While we could split hairs about her not giving the

So, she reveals that she supports trans people and that she’s learning and trying to better herself on a topic and human condition that she wasn’t familiar with for most of her life. And the takeaway here is that that’s “not pretty”? The purity tests are unreal.

What on earth. This woman can’t do anything right. I’m sorry her honesty is not pretty enough for you. (pretty enough!!!!! How did you end this piece saying that!)

This is classic TERF/transphobe tactics: find the most extreme possible example, get someone who is casually ok with trans folks to go along with it, and then try to portray them as agreeing with you. Hillary Clinton has actually worked to measurably improve trans lies, I’m willing to give her the benefit of the doubt

I agree. I think it's a lot better to say "I'm still learning" than to just spout off at the mouth.

I don’t see what the issue is here. This is a new subject for many people, something they’ve never been exposed to before or thought much about. And frankly, it is an uncomfortable topic for many, especially older folks. I say it’s a good thing for those who are confused or don’t feel fully confident in their ideas
