Since it uses a standard screen you wouldn’t save much money on a set-top only version. Maybe $30 retail, $50 most for losing the screen and battery. I suppose $50 would be enough for some but that’s definitely pushing it.

I hate to see only 17% care about it being portable. Seems like a needless sacrifice was made for little appreciation. Since those numbers are bound to be less in America, might be curious to see what it’s like in Europe.

Nearly perfect so long as you get a second sensor, which you do if you buy touch controls, and if you’re serious about VR, touch controls are a MUST. (they significantly add to the immersion of VR, far more than I would have appreciated until I tried it. Makes Job Simulator, for instance, far more interesting)
